Dolce&Gabbana brought its standout piece to the runway.

MILAN, ITALY – JANUARY 13: Models walk on the runway at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show during Milan Men’s Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2024-2025 on January 13, 2024, in Milan, Italy.

The elegant, meticulously tailored garments, crafted to perfection, radiate quality through their choice of fabrics, cuts, and proportions. “Luxury is something you either know how to do, or you don’t. There is a need for a return to quality, and this has always been at the core of our brand,” state Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, reinforcing a longstanding conversation that has been central to their work for several seasons—and, indeed, it has always been ingrained in their DNA. They continue to focus on what they do best: creating exceptional clothing. “I always start with the jackets when conceptualizing a collection,” shares Domenico Dolce just hours before the show. “A jacket has the power to reset everything—it shapes you in the best possible way, even if you have sloping shoulders or a few extra pounds.”

In the Fall/Winter collection, held at the former Metropol cinema on a striking set where models ascended a staircase on a raised platform in a pristine, minimalist space, tailcoats, spencers, tuxedos, and formal wear defined a beautiful portrait of Italian haute couture, all in black, staying true to tradition. Here, the notion of “classic” is redefined—not as a repetition of the past, but as a reinvention of elegance, reinterpreted through refined proportions and the use of silk georgette, satin, or chiffon blouses with high collars or bow ties, as opposed to the conventional white shirt. Every element of the collection is reexamined, reshaped, and reimagined—blending the meticulous craftsmanship of a brand with nearly forty years of history, and a contemporary vision that resonates with the tastes of a younger audience eager to embrace sophisticated, beautiful attire. As Stefano Gabbana explains, “We are working with young groups heading to Sanremo, and no one wants sportswear—everyone desires elegant clothing.”
